1. Event Ingestion Layer

Captures inbound signals from webhooks, REST endpoints, Discord WebSocket gateways, and scheduled cron jobs. Incoming payloads are verified with cryptographic signatures (HMAC SHA-256) and validated against JSON Schemas before entering the queue.

2. Model Integration Layer

Our planned Claude API reasoning architecture uses Anthropic's tool-calling specification to parse unstructured text into deterministic execution graphs. Prompts are isolated from untrusted input to mitigate prompt injection, and models are instructed to produce strictly typed outputs.

3. Tool & API Sandboxes

Agents do not possess arbitrary shell or network privileges. Each tool is an isolated wrapper around a specific API endpoint (e.g. Discord API, GitHub REST, Notion, or internal DB). Parameters are type-checked and sanitized before dispatch.

4. Workflow Orchestration

Tasks are represented as Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs). Each node represents an atomic operation with defined inputs, outputs, timeout bounds, and compensation logic. If a downstream step fails, the pipeline halts or executes predefined rollback steps.

5. Human Approval Mechanisms

Actions are categorized by risk tier (Read-Only, Idempotent Write, Consequential Mutating). Any action classified as Consequential (e.g. bulk member modifications, database deletions, notification broadcasts) requires human operator sign-off before running.

6. Telemetry & Audit Trail

Every step records structured event logs: timestamps, input parameters, model prompt IDs, token costs, response latency, and operator decisions. This enables deterministic debugging, compliance auditing, and continuous workflow optimization.

Data Handling & Security Principles

Security and privacy are engineering constraints, not afterthoughts. Here is how NIXFLOWS handles data at every stage.

Data Minimization

Workflows only receive the specific fields required for execution. Unrelated user data is stripped at the ingestion gateway before reaching any processing or reasoning model.

Zero Credential Exposure

API keys, bot tokens, and database secrets are managed via encrypted environment configurations. Client-side bundles contain zero credentials or sensitive backend routes.

No Model Training on Data

Neither NIXFLOWS nor third-party model providers use customer prompts or operational data to train foundational models. All API communications leverage enterprise terms with zero data retention where supported.
